What are the characteristics of a fully automatic lathe?

The fully automatic lathe is a machine tool that primarily performs turning operations on rotating workpieces using cutting tools.

The fully automatic lathe is a machine tool that primarily uses cutting tools to perform turning operations on rotating workpieces. It is mainly used for processing shafts, discs, sleeves, and other workpieces with rotating surfaces, primarily cylindrical in shape, and is the most widely used type of machine tool in mechanical manufacturing and repair workshops. On the lathe, corresponding processing can also be done using drills, reamers, boring tools, taps, dies, and knurling tools. The ordinary lathe has a wide range of processing objects, a large adjustment range for spindle speed and feed rate, and can process the inner and outer surfaces, end faces, and internal and external threads of workpieces. This type of lathe is mainly operated manually by workers, has low production efficiency, and is suitable for single-piece, small batch production, and repair workshops. The fully automatic lathe is a high-tech product that integrates machine, electricity, and hydraulics.

The fully automatic lathe, also known as a microcomputer automatic lathe, achieves fully automated operation, producing finished products in one go, greatly improving work efficiency. The industries and application areas of fully automatic lathes are particularly broad, such as electronics, electrical engineering, computers, and hardware. It is mainly used for milling and shaping small hardware such as motor shafts, hex sockets, and screwdriver shanks in straight, cross, and star shapes, with overall performance at a leading level domestically.

The characteristics of the fully automatic lathe include:

a. Microcomputer intelligent control with flexible non-cutting, and long tool life during regular use;

b. Tool rod length error within 2mm can still produce qualified heads normally;

c. The spindle motor automatically starts and stops, ensuring high safety;

d. The processing range of tool rod length on the same machine is from 20mm to 380mm;

e. The whole machine has no intermediate relays or mechanical electrical components such as limit switches, resulting in a low failure rate.
